We Will Rock You - The Story

We Will Rock You, the musical, is set on Planet Mall where all the teenagers where the same clothes, watch the same films and listen to the same music. Every type of media is produced and controlled by the Company Computers. The only music available is by manufactured boy bands and girl bands where hits singles are planned years in advance. All musical instruments are banned on Planet Mall. It is a conformist, dull existence – it is a Ga Ga World.

However, there are those who exist in underground movements and who believe in a life like it used to be. These resistance followers, called the Bohemians, believe in the old world, a ‘Golden Age’ where kids could listen to any music they wanted to and had the choice to form their own bands, write their own music and ‘rock out’! This old world is called ‘The Rhapsody’. This resistance is growing!

Legend has it that somewhere on Planet Mall, instruments still exist and that a mighty axe (guitar) of a great guitar god lies buried deep in rock. Only one man can draw this trophy from the stone – and that is Galileo!

It is now a race against time for the Bohemians and Galileo to find the magical axe before the Ga Ga Police do. If Galileo is caught, he will be dragged in front of the ‘Killer Queen’ and banished to Oblivion across the Seven Seas of Rhye.

Who is Galileo? Where is the magical lost axe? Can he fulfil the prophecy and restore a Rock n Roll utopia?

About We Will Rock You

We Will Rock You, has been a fixture at the Dominion Theatre on London’s Tottenham Court Road since 2002. It is now an iconic venue with a giant ‘Freddy Mercury’ figure standing tall at the front of the building.

The musical was written by award-winning comedian and writer Ben Elton, and is inspired by the music of Queen. The show was written in collaboration with former Queen band members, Brian May and Roger Taylor. The show is now a firm favourite with theatre goers offering an exciting and futuristic story that let’s your imagination run wild.

We Will Rock You has now been seen Ireland, Australia, Canada, Russia, Spain, Japan, South Africa, Zürich, Vienna, New Zealand, South Korea, Singapore, Bangkok and Hong Kong. As of July 2009, productions are still active in Great Britain, Italy and Germany. It has been seen by 4.5 million people in London alone, has notched up over 3,000 performances and has won numerous awards including Best New Musical (Theatre Goers Choice Awards), Best Live Performance (Capital Radio) and Outstanding Production of a Musical (Dora Awards).

A follow up show has now been draft and is planned for production in the very near future.

Age Restrictions

Please note: Children under 3 years of age are not permitted. The We Will Rock You musical is unsuitable for children under 7 years of age but children over 3 years of age are permitted provided a ticket is purchased. If they become restless then the theatre may ask you to leave the premises.

If you book your tickets in enough time, we can send them to a UK postal address within 7-10 days of the performance. If you would like them delivered to a Central London Hotel on the morning of the performance, there is a £15 delivery charge.

If you are booking from outside the UK we can deliver your tickets to your London hotel (£15 charge) or you can collect your tickets
